We've all been there.

I am a web app, not a doctor. If you're actually dying, put the phone down and call a professional.

Common questions

Does drinking water cure a hangover?
No, but it makes a real difference to how rough you feel. Alcohol is a diuretic, so you wake up genuinely dehydrated — the NHS lists fluid loss through more frequent urination as one of the main hangover drivers. Steady sips of water, oral rehydration salts, or weak squash through the morning won't undo the night, but it is the single most useful thing you can do without a doctor.
What helps a hangover fast?
There is no scientific cure. The best evidence-based combination is water, food, and time. Eat something starchy and a bit salty, hydrate steadily, and let the symptoms pass — the Cleveland Clinic notes hangovers usually clear within 24 hours. Skip the hair-of-the-dog: another drink delays the misery rather than ending it. Sleep, paracetamol if you tolerate it (and only once the alcohol is out of your system), and patience.
Should I send an apology text the morning after?
Almost always yes, and the sooner the better. Behavioural research consistently finds that apologies land best when they are prompt, specific, and actually accept responsibility (Lewicki et al., 2016). Keep it short, name the thing you did, and don't make it about how rough you feel. Post-Pint's Text-Triage will draft one in your chosen tone and recipient; read it before you send.
What is Post-Pint?
Post-Pint is a sarcastic, supportive hangover helper that lives in your browser. It tracks hydration with a one-tap droplet, calculates a wholly unscientific survival probability, drafts apology texts for the people you may have wronged, and runs a private confessional with our mascot Pint. It works in a sensory-friendly low-light interface, doesn't store your confessions on a server, and is free with no account required.
Is Post-Pint medical advice?
No. Post-Pint is a web app, not a doctor. The numbers, plans, and badges are designed to be honest and helpful, but they are not a substitute for a healthcare professional. If you are badly unwell, dependent, or worried about your drinking, please talk to your GP or a service like the NHS, Drinkaware, or the equivalent in your country.
Why do I feel anxious the day after drinking?
It is so common it has a name: hangxiety. Alcohol disrupts your sleep, dehydrates you, and rebounds your brain chemistry in unhelpful directions, leaving you wired, raw, and replaying every text. Hydrate, eat, get some fresh air, talk to a real human, and remind yourself the spiral is not accurate. Post-Pint's Confessional is built for exactly this morning, but it is not a replacement for proper support if hangxiety is a regular thing for you.
